DraftKings Fantasy Golf Underdogs

The countdown to the third major PGA Championship is just a few days away as golfers prepare for the 2015 Open Championship at St. Andrews. While the golfers prepare themselves for another major, DraftKings owners are building a list of potential golfers to build their lineup for a chance to take home a top prize of $1 million dollars. If you haven’t signed up yet, click here to sign up today to take a shot at history.

If you haven’t had a chance to take a look at our first article, we suggest you take a minute to take a look at our quick overview for this tournament. We will also put out our PGA lineup for DraftKings sometime around lunch time tomorrow. That being said the key to building any winning lineup in any fantasy sport is finding a sleeper that can help carry the load. That gives us a chance to take a look at some of the underdogs we like in this tournament that could save you save fantasy cash.

Here is our list of top underdogs for The Open Championship this week at St. Andrews golf course.

Kevin Kisner ($7,000): Kisner has been solid in 2015, placing second in three of his 23 events played this season.  Along with his two second place finishes, Kisner has finished six times in the top 10 and has made 17 of 23 cuts. Kisner finished tied for 12th at the US Open back in June. This past week, Kisner shot three rounds under 70 to finish tied for 35th at the John Deer Classic.

Graham DeLaet ($6,900): While Kisner and Na might be the bigger name in this lower tier range, DeLaet has a chance to make some noise. DeLaet has shot at least five under in each of his last four events. The down side is he has yet to play a major this year but that could lower his percentage of usage which could deliver you some key fantasy points.

Kevin Na ($6,800): As we said yesterday, Na is one of those cheaper options that can help save you some salary cap. That being said we also expect to see his name on many rosters, which could hurt someone looking to take home the million dollar prize. That being said, Na has played in 19 events this season making the cut in 16 while placing in the top 10 in six.

Thongchai Jaidee ($6,800): Now we know you might not have heard of Jaidee before this article. That being said he plays mostly over in Europe and has played well over the past few events. Jaidee placed tied for 31st in his last event five under as well as 10th and 11th in his last three tournaments played. Jaidee could be a sleeper pick that could deliver some numbers as well as being used in small capacity.

Gary Boyd ($6,000): Here is a real DraftKings sleeper for this PGA Millionaire event at the Open Championship. Boyd doesn’t play on the European and PGA tour but in the Challenge Tour which is very close to the Web.com tour. That being said he is very familiar with the golf courses over in England. Boyd has shot five of his last six rounds at least three under including three rounds at at least 11 under. In that stretch, Boyd has placed fourth, second and fifth while making the cut in five of his last six events.

A few others we like include John Senden ($6,800), Thomas Aiken ($6,700):, Pablo Larrazabal ($6,600) and Soren Kieldsen ($6,300).
