Quarterbacks:

The list at QB this week goes from Tom Brady $8000, to Cam Newton $7400 and Andy Dalton $6400 and ends with a value play in Jay Cutler $5100.  Tom Brady at will cost you as he is the highest priced QB across the board.  He lost Gronk last week but should be getting back Danny Amendola.  Scott Chandler was a nice cheap TE play last week getting 11 targets which should allow for a cheap stack with Brady this week or solid option as a cash game TE sure to hit value.  Cam Newton is playing against that terrible New Orleans Defense who has given up 99 points over the last 3 games they have played.  You can stack him with Olsen or double stack his receiving options and go Olsen TE and Funchess WR or Ginn WR.  Jay Cutler is cheap and in a great spot.  Check the weather in Chicago for yourself but it’s looking like a 48 degree day and wind at 6 mph so everyone should be excited to play football.  Cutler has a few weapons back in Forte and Jeffrey so play Cutler naked or stack him with Jeffrey in cash or GPP.  At 1st glance the San Francisco Defense doesn’t look terrible but they have extreme splits at home and on the road.  Cutler gets them in Chicago and San Francisco has given up 47, 43, 30, 29, and 27 points in their 5 road games.  Playing Cutler saves so much money to fit in those high salaries.

Running Backs:

This column has promoted a bunch of RBs at the cost saving prices in recent weeks and this week is no different.  Grab guys like Javorius Allen $5400, Shaun Draughn $4000, David Johnson $3400, Duke Johnson $3800 and even Jonathan Stewart $5300.  Allen, Draughn, David Johnson, and Jonathan Stewart all will get over 20 carries and may approach 30 touches as they are great PPR values.  Stewart will be the most expensive of these players on all sites and the Saints defense is giving up almost 80 total yards per game to RBs over the last 3 games and Stewart has the highest percentage of red zone touches in the NFL this season.  Expect a TD or 2 from Jonathan Stewart this week.  David Johnson is almost a must play in cash.  He is the new 3 down back in Arizona and the RB has 7 TDs this season on 54 touches.  Duke Johnson and even Theo Riddick are PPR friendly RBs who make value based on their catches if you want to save or use them in a flex spot.

Wide Receiver:

Lots of WRs to consider this week: Brandon Marshall $7100, Alshon Jeffrey $6900, Brandon LaFell $4800, Julio Jones $9000, Odell Beckham Jr $8900, Jeremy Maclin $5200, Larry Fitzgerald $7400, and Jarvis Landry $6700.  The two guys we should look to get in our lineups are Brandon Marshall and Odell Beckham Jr.  They face off in the same game this week.  Beckham is still seeing a high volume of targets and it looks like Revis will be out of this game as he recovers from his concussion.  The Jets are banged up in the secondary so Beckham can get off in this game.  The Giants need a win and the best way to attack is by getting your best playmaker the ball.  If Eli Manning has some time to throw we can expect Beckham to receive double digit targets.  Brandon Marshall is a matchup nightmare.  His strength, size and ball skills have been too much for opposing DBs all season.  Expect more of the same in this contest and Ryan Fitzpatrick targets Marshall in the red zone because of that size.  Eric Decker has really come up in price at this point but he has 8 TDs in 10 games played this year.  Julio Jones went for 12 catches and 169 yards with a TD in week 8 vs Tampa Bay so he has already proved he can take advantage of the Tampa Bay secondary.  Jarvis Landry is as safe as they come in cash games considering he’s good for 7-8 catches and 80 yards every week.

Tight End:

Value TE options is the theme this week: Scott Chandler $2500, Kyle Rudolph $3700, and Jacob Tamme $3700.  You can expect to see Chandler if our lineup construction later in the week.  Gronk is out this week which means Chandler steps in and the targets will be there.  New England just isn’t moving the ball via the run so it’s on Brady to pass them down the field and the options are getting very limited with all the injuries.  Chandler received 11 targets last week and led the team in the category including a TD catch.  Brady may get Amendola back but Chandler is still a good option.  The guy you can consider paying up for is Delanie Walker $5700.  He is a favorite of Marcus Marriota and is targeted quite often.  Unfortunately he hasn’t seen the end zone much.  Tamme is a solid play if Hankerson is out which it looks like is the case this week.  Go back and look at the splits with and without Hankerson and you will see Tamme gets those targets.  Rudolph has 19 targets in the last two games if you want to take a flier with him.

Defense/Special Teams:

Three defenses really stand out because of matchup.  Chicago DST $2600 vs San Francisco, Cincinnati DST $3400 vs Cleveland, and Washington DST $2300 vs Dallas.  All three defenses are seeing backup QBs this week so the expectation is a turnover or two that has that chance to result in a DST touchdown.  Low point totals are projected by Vegas for San Francisco, Cleveland, and Dallas so guess right and you could be rewarded.  Washington has been especially stout at home on the defensive side as they grabbed a piece of 1st place with their victory over the New York Giants last week.
