FanDuel MLB Lineup for Friday June 5th

The weekend has arrived as we get set to cash in on some Major League Baseball action on FanDuel. Tonight’s lineup of Major League Baseball games include all 30 teams in action giving us a nice field to build from.

That being said none of the games top starters will be taking the hill tonight allowing us to look at the next tier of starters. This includes guys like Carlos Martinez for the St. Louis Cardinals, Jake Odorizzi for the Tampa Bay Rays and Tim Lincecum for the San Francisco Giants.

On the opposite side you also have a few sleeper options that either are very cheap to provide salary cap relief or they have struggled. One of those starters is Chris Tillman who has struggled for most of the season but has shown in the past he can be a solid fantasy option. One of the FanDuel sleeper options if you are looking to take a little more of a gamble is someone like Kyle Ryan for the Detroit Tigers.

Ryan has only one appearance out of the bullpen since getting called up making him a big time gamble that could pay off in GPP leagues. Nice thing for fantasy owners tonight is no one starter should be used above the 10 percent mark allowing any starter to help you win cash.

Before we get to our lineup always take the time to monitor the weather forecast for the guys in our lineup as well as the daily-posted lineups once posted by the teams. We like to get our articles out early in the day  hours before we can really take them into consideration with out possible costing us some fantasy points.

Here is our FanDuel lineup for Friday June 5th, 2015.

P – Charlie Morton, ($6,900): With no real strong starting pitching option we elected to go with the Pittsburgh Pirates starter. Morton has made two starts this season picking up wins in both contests while picking up 12 fantasy points. Tonight he will make his third start of the season against the Atlanta Braves.

C – Matt Wieters ($2,900): The Baltimore Orioles catcher is expected to be activated today from the disabled list and be in the starting lineup tonight. This is one position to monitor but we like Wieters ability to put up some big time power numbers at a nice salary cap figure.

First Base – Justin Smoak ($2,400): We might have built our lineup a little differently if we knew for sure if Edwin Encaracion was going to be in the lineup. That being said Smoak is a great option tonight at a cheap cost playing in a hitter friendly ball park at the Rogers Centre.

Second Base – Johnny Giavotella ($2,500): Another difficult decision as we loved Dustin Pedroia  and his past success against Scott Kazmier. That being said we elected to go expensive at the short stop position, third base position and outfielder landing us a nice cheap option in the Los Angeles Angels second baseman.

Third Base – Josh Donldson ($4,900): Donaldson has cooled off a little after his recent home run streak but that potential could start any night while playing at the Rogers Centre.

Short Stop – Troy Tulowitzki ($4,800): It was only a matter of time before the best short stop in baseball started hitting. That has been the case for Tulo as he has four home runs in his last five games. Take his recent hot streak and the fact the Colorado Rockies return home to Coors Field makes him a great option.

Outfielder – Rajai Davis ($3,000): While he is listed as Day To Day, the Detroit Tigers outfielder is expected to rejoin the team after being put on the Paternity list as his family expects the birth of their second baby. Davis has had good success against Jose Quintana in his career picking up 11 hits in 31 at bats with a home run.

Outfielder – Adam Jones ($2,800): I couldn’t believe that the Baltimore Orioles fantasy salary had dropped to $2,800. That being said he did only hit one home run in the month of May but he managed to tie that for June on Thursday with his seventh home run of the season to give the Orioles the lead and the win. Jones has five hits over his last two games.

Outfielder – Jose Bautista ($4,700): The Blue Jays outfielder was one of many we considered using tonight against Roberto Hernandez. In his career Bautista has seven hits in 17 at bats with six of them going for extra bases including two home runs.

Other Fantasy Options you might consider are Ryan Howard, Alex Rodriguez, Chris Coghlan and Miguel Cabrera based on their past success against starters they are facing tonight.
