FanDuel MLB Lineup for Monday August 24th

The start of a new FanDuel MLB week is here as we approach the first week of the regular NFL season. For now our eyes are still all in on the baseball action as we focus on looking at the best lineups available each day as well as a few options for each position.

That being said tonight FanDuel owners have a solid nine game lineup to build from including a New York Mets verse Philadelphia Phillies matchup that many will have their eyes on. That’s because the Mets will send out one of their top starters in Jacob deGrom who is eyeing his 13th win of the 2015 Major League Baseball season.

Outside of deGrom, the top tier options are thin or should we say sure bet fantasy picks. The second starter based on salary is Jeff Samardzija for the Chicago White Sox who will be taking the mound against the Boston Red Sox. Other solid options include Hisashi Iwakuma for the Seattle Mariner and Lance Lynn for the St. Louis Cardinals.

For us we are sticking with deGrom who has turned in seven straight games with double digit fantasy numbers. Here is our complete FanDuel lineup with options for each position.

Starting Pitcher – Jacob deGrom ($11,700): deGrom is really only the top option tonight so we expect many fantasy owners to look to cash in with him. That being said going with a FanDuel bargain such as Buck Farmer against the Cincinnati Reds or Joe Kelly against the White Sox are more suited to help you cash in big on a GPP.

Option 2 – Buck Farmer ($4,500) & Option 3 – Lance Lynn ($8,900)

Catcher – Yadier Molina ($2,400): Molina has shown a little signs of his bat and power coming back to him. The Cardinals catcher has picked up two home runs as well as nine runs batted in over his last ten games.

Option 2 – Salvador Perez ($2,400) & Option 3 – Victor Martinez ($2,800)

First Base – Eric Hosmer ($3,600): We had a few different players we could have used at first base including his teammate Kendrys Morales. In the end Hosmer is hitting .346 in nearly 30 career at bats against Ubalado Jimenez with a pair of home runs.

Option 2 – Kendrys Morales ($3,000) & Option 3 – Miguel Cabrera ($5,400)

Second Base – Stephen Drew ($2,200): Needing another FanDuel sleeper landed us with the New York Yankees second baseman. Drew has put up a few big FanDuel performances over the last month including a 12.75 performance back on August 13th, 2015.

Option 2 – DJ LeMahieu ($2,900) & Option 3 – Jonathan Schoop ($2,400)

Third Base – Pablo Sandoval ($2,300): The Red Sox third baseman was a easy play for us as he has picked up four hits off of Samardzija in ten at bats with two home runs. Sandoval is currently riding a six game hitting streak that includes four doubles with three runs scored.

Option 2 – Nolan Arenado ($4,200) & Todd Frazier ($2,900)

Short Stop – Jhonny Peralta ($2,300): Sticking with FanDuel sleepers at the short stop position landed us with the Cardinals short stop. Peralta is riding a six game hitting streak while picking up at least a hit in nine of his last ten contests.

Option 2 – Jose Reyes ($3,000) & Option 3 – Jung-ho Kang ($3,700)

Outfielder – Coco Crisp ($2,400): While we don’t like Crisp’s overall numbers against the Mariners starter he does have two career home runs off of Iwakuma. Crisp was also swinging a hot bat entering Saturday including three straight multi hit performances.

Outfielder – Carlos Gonzalez ($4,000): Gonzo is well worth the value coming in riding a four game hitting streak that includes two home runs, two runs driven in and four runs scored.

Outfielder – Yoenis Cespedes ($4,000): We thought about going cheaper at the last outfield spot and using Nelson Cruz in place of Gonzo. If you like that move go that route if not, Cespedes had been hot including a 28 point fantasy performance just a few games ago.

Option 4 – Adam Jones ($3,600), Option 5 – Lorenzo Cain ($3,700) & Option 6 – Nelson Cruz ($5,000)
