FanDuel MLB Lineup for Thursday August 20th

Chris Archer faces off against Collin McHugh in what looks to be one of the better pitching matchups on Thursday Night. This matchup not only features two of the better pitchers taking the field but also two of the top FanDuel fantasy options on Thursday Night.

Archer will look to lead his Tampa Bay Rays team into Houston to pick up a much needed win against an Astros team to keep there own hopes alive in the American League Wild Card pitcher. On the opposite side the Astros will send one of there top pitching products to the mound to continue there hot success.

As we start to take a quick look at these two fantasy FanDuel options for Thursday we first started to look at there recent fantasy performances. For Archer, he has been solid for the past month or so but struggled in his last outing finishing with just 2.33 fantasy points. Over his last ten games though, Archer has ten outings with double digits as well as two 18 point fantasy performances as well as a 16 point fantasy outing

While we expect higher amounts of Fantasy usage for Chris Archer, McHugh has been sold for the entire season for the Astros. This includes turning in eight double digit fantasy performances over his last ten outings with one 19 point contest as well as two additional 16 point outings. In his last outing against the Rays, McHugh finished with ten fantasy points despite failing to pick up a win in the contest.

One bonus to using McHugh is the additional fantasy salary we have left to spend on other top fantasy options.

Here is our MLB FanDuel lineup for Thursday August 20th, 2015.

Starting Pitcher – Collin McHugh ($8,600): We love McHugh on Thursday Night against a Rays team that has struggled at points to score runs this season. McHugh will also get a chance to pick up this time around after failing to do so in his last outing against the Rays.

Option 2 – Jake Arrieta ($10,600) & Option 3 – Patrick Corbin ($6,700)

Catcher – Matt Wieters ($2,500): After getting the night off on Wednesday we expect Wieters to be back in the lineup on Thursday. The Baltimore Orioles catcher is currently riding a seven game hitting streak with three multi hit performances over that stretch.

Option 2 – A.J. Pierzynski ($2,800) & Option 3 – Wilson Ramos ($2,800)

First Base – Gregory Bird ($3,000): Bird has came out of nowhere for the New York Yankees this season. This includings picking up six hits over his last four games including smacking his first two home runs of the season on Wednesday Night as he finished with 13.5 fantasy points.

Option 2 – Albert Pujols ($3,800) & Option 3 – Paul Goldschidt ($4,500)

Second Base – Jonathan Schoop ($2,400): Schoop continues to be worth every penny we have spent on him. This includes him connecting on his eighth home run of the season Wednesday Night. The Orioles second baseman has picked up at least one hit in seven of his last ten games of late.

Option 2 – Jason Kipnis ($3,400) & Option 3 – Dee Gordon ($4,000)

Third Base – Yunel Escobar ($4,100): For fantasy owners that know us we love to use players hitting in specific ball parks with one of those stardiums being Coors Field. This allows us to go after Yunel Escobar to fill the void we need at short stop at a solid fantasy price. The Nationals third base man has five hits over his last seven at bats including a double and home run.

Option 2 – Manny Machado ($4,100) & Option 3 – Chase Headley ($3,000)

Short Stop – Adeiny Hechavarria ($2,600): The Marlins short stop is a great FanDuel bargain for Thursday Night. Hechavarria has turned in four games with over 3.75 fantasy points in his last ten gams while posting positive fantasy numbers in all ten contests.

Option 2 – J.J. Hardy ($2,300) & Option 3 – Asdrubal Cabrera ($3,400)

Outfielder – Jackie Bradley ($2,900): The Boston Red Sox outfielder is slowly seeing his production increase on the diamond. This includes four multi hit games over his past eight contests while picking up five doubles, two triples and four home runs.

Outfielder – Michael Brantley ($4,200): Sticking with a player who has been hot of late landed us with Brantely against the Chicago White Sox. Brantley has turned out at least four fantasy points in seven of his last ten games .

Outfielder – Mike Trout ($4,500): The Los Angeles Outfielder has been hampered by an injury of late that may have some outcome on his productiona at the plate. That being said Trout has the ability to break out from a slump any night of the week.

Option 4 – Adam Jones ($3,700), Option 5 – A.J. Pollock ($4,300) & Option 6 – Bryce Harper ($5,800)
