Fantasy Football’s Week #2 Injury Report

The NFL season is only entering week 2 but the injury list is filling up. This is the one part of the game that not only hurts the player, their teams but also fantasy football owners of some of these key stars. Nonetheless the game is a brutal sport that will only keep forcing injuries. That is why it is important to stay tuned to each week for an updated injury list.

This week injury report includes a long list of the NFL’s top fantasy starters as well as some key role players. Starting with the quarterback position Cam Newton, Tony Romo and Shaun Hill are on the list. At the wide receiver position Alshon Jeffery, A.J. Green and Brandon Marshall are all listed. Moving on to the running back list Maurice Jones-Drew, Knowshon Moreno and Arian Foster.

These were just a few of the key fantasy stars who have found their names on the injury list around the NFL. Below is a more in depth look at each positions injury report around the NFL.

Quarterbacks:

Cam Newton, Probable: The Carolina Panthers star is expected to play from all reports against the Detroit Lions on Sunday. Newton has been dealing with a rib injury that will cause him to wear a flat jacket to absorb some of the hits.

Shaun Hill, Questionable: Not that we expect many fantasy owners to start him even when healthy but he is dealing with a thigh injury. The injury forced him to leave the St. Louis Rams first game.

Tony Romo, Probable: Romo will suit up for the Dallas Cowboys in week 2. This is more of a cautionary listing since Romo is coming off major back surgery in the off-season. In week 1 Romo threw for over 250 yards but threw three costly interceptions.

Running Backs:

Eddie Lacy, Probable: Lacy is coming off a concussion sustained during the teams opener against the Seattle Seahawks. The Green Bay Packers running back is expected to start after zero set backs this week in practice.

Andre Ellington, Questionable: The Arizona Cardinals running back finished week 1 with 13 carries for 53 yards and one fumble. The matchup with the New York Giants could be a difficult one as they allowed only 76 yards on the ground in week 1.

Reggie Bush, Probable: Bush is dealing with a knee injury was limited to only 15 yards on nine carries in week 1. This week the Detroit Lions have a difficult matchup against a very good Carolina Panthers defense.

Wide Receivers:

Roddy White, Probable: The Atlanta Falcons are coming off an impressive week 1 win against the New Orleans Saints. This week the team will need White in the lineup against a very good Cincinnati Bengals team. White finished week 1 with five catches for 72 yards and one touchdown.

Cecil Shorts, Doubtful: The Jacksonville Jaguars number one receiver looks to miss his second straight game with an hamstring injury. This opens up the door for fantasy owners to use wide receiver Allen Hurns. The teams third receiver Marqise Lee is also battling a hamstring injury.

Tight End:

Antonio Gates, Probable: Gates could see his name the entire season on this list as an aging veteran. It looks like he will be a go this week as the San Diego Chargers host the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
