True to my name, I sat down and took a look at some potential Diamonds in the Rough out there for your Fantasy Teams for the second half of the season.  For those that selected Trout over Cabrera (ouch!) this may help ease the wounds and trash talk from your fellow Roto enthusiasts!

The 2013 Major League Baseball season is officially half way over with the 2013 MLB All-Star Game taking place along with the other All-Star festivities. This gives us a chance to take a look at a few players that could help your fantasy baseball team down the stretch.

While the Texas Rangers continue to play good baseball the team is likely to call up newly acquired Manny Ramirez from the minors after the All-Star break.  Manny has been away from the game for a little while but in 49 games for the EDA Rhinos in Taiwan he batted .352 with 8 home-runs and 43 runs batted in. Look for him to be a free agent in most leagues and could benefit from playing in Texas.

Meanwhile the Baltimore Orioles continue to play good baseball under Buck Showalter. The team has not one but two players who could help fantasy teams around the league while having a hot second half. Wei-Yin Chen who recently came off the disabled list threw 7 innings with 1 earned run in his last outing lowering his season earned run average to 2.82. The other Oriole to watch out for is Manny Machado. Machado is on pace for 66 doubles will increase his power number in the second half leading to more home-runs and less doubles.

Other position players to watch around the league include Kendrys Morales of the Seattle Mariners, Darwin Barney of the Chicago Cubs and Hanley Ramirez of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Morales has batted .346 with 3 home-runs and 6 runs batted in over his last 7 games. For the Cubs Barney has hit .318 with 2 home-runs and 7 runs batted in over his last 7 games. Meanwhile Hanley has 7 of his home-runs since coming off the disabled list. All three of these players look to have a good second half of the 2013 MLB season.

The position players won’t be the only players getting hot in the second half. Look for a pair of teammates for the Cincinnati Reds to rebound. Homer Bailey and Mat Latos have combined for 248 strike-outs in the first half of 2013. Bailey who pitched his second career no hitter has struggled in his last two outings but look for him to get on track. Latos will also look to bounce back after allowing 6 runs in 4 innings in his last outing. Look for the Reds behind their pitching to make a run in the second half.

A few other starts to consider in the second half include Miguel Gonzalez of the Baltimore Orioles, CC Sabathia of the New York Yankees and Lance Lynn of the St. Louis Cardinals. All three teams are in the playoff hunt and will turn to their pitching to help them win games down the stretch. Miguel Gonzalez has 7 wins and 3 losses with a 3.48 earned run average while anchoring the middle of the rotation. Like Gonzales the Yankees will turn to Sabathia if they want to take the AL East. Meanwhile Lynn has 11 wins while pitching to a 4.00 earned run average for the Cardinals. The earned run average will go down in the second half.

These are just a few of the players who will get hot in the second half of the 2013 Major League Baseball season.
