MLB Week-end Fantasy Lineups

The weekend is fast approaching with a full lineup of MLB games each day to build your daily fantasy lineups from. Starting on Friday Night with a pitchers showcase between Johnny Cueto and Madison Bumgarner. On Saturday Max Scherzer and the Detroit Tigers face off against the Houston Astros with Dallas Keuchel on the mound. The weekend wraps up with two of the games top starters pitching in Felix Hernanedaz and Clayton Kershaw. Kershaw and the Los Angeles Dodgers take on the St. Louis Cardinals while the Seattle Mariners host the Cleveland Indians.
Not all the fantasy action this weekend will be from the starting pitching as there is a long list of potential hitters to select from as well. Dan Uggla and the Atlanta Braves face off against Kyle Kendrick and the Philadelphia Phillies. Uggla has 12 hits in 39 career at bats verse Kendrick with two home runs and seven runs driven in. On Saturday Ryan Ludwick is a perfect play against Matt Cain of the San Francisco Giants. Ludwick will enter the contest with a .364 career average against Cain in 22 at bats with three home runs.
Fantasy Hitters For The Weekend:
Ryan Zimmerman verses Jason Hammel, Chicago Cubs: Zimmerman and the Washington Nationals take on Hammel on Friday afternoon in Chicago. Zimmerman has nine career hits with one home run and four runs driven in for his career against the Cubs starter.
Josh Hamilton verses Jeremy Guthrie, Kansas City Royals: Hamilton is a smart play for Friday Night and Sunday based on his past power performance against both starters. Sunday’s numbers against Guthrie is a little higher as he has posted a .321 average in 28 career at bats with four home runs.
Alex Rios verses Phil Hughes, Minnesota Twins: On Saturday Rios has a nice matchup against a pitcher he has had success against. Rios has 13 hits in 27 career at bats against Hughes with one home run and five driven in.
Fantasy Pitchers For The Weekend:
Max Scherzer verses the Houston Astros: Scherzer takes the mound for the Tigers on Saturday and should deliver for fantasy owners. In his past outings against Astro’s hitters he has allowed only 10 hits in 63 at bats against him with two home runs. Scherzer has also added 21 strikeouts and an opposing .210 on base percentage.
Felix Hernandez or Clayton Kershaw: Both would be your typical choice but both take the mound on Sunday. Kershaw is facing a very talented hitting team in the Cardinals, but his past two outings make it almost impossible to go against him.
