An Inside Look Into Winning Daily Fantasy Sports CFL DraftKings Lineups

Position 1: DraftKings CFL Daily Fantasy Sports Lineup Breakdown – Quarterback (QB):

Mike Reilly (1 PaTD, 383 PaYds, 1 300+Pass, 16 RuYds) – 23.92 DFS Points [30.5%]

A widely owned quarterback but not close to the best on the weekend Mike Reilly as pick showed us you can still win even with an average performance from your QB in CFL.  The Edmonton Eskimos did not seem to put a lot of focus on passing TD’s and that might be something to look out for in upcoming games.  The reality is just like in the NFL but even more so in the CFL you need passing TD’s from your quarterback as QB rushing TD’s are a rarity.  Trevor Harris and Jeremiah Masoli were great examples of this last week with 3 passing TD’s but no rushing TD’s

Position 2: DraftKings CFL Daily Fantasy Sports Lineup Breakdown – Running Back (RB):

Chris Rainey (151 RetYds, 1 PuntTD, 1 RuTD, 1 RuYds, 5 RecYds) – 21.15 DFS Points [4.9%]

A low owned CFL running back option this last week Chris Rainey highlights how valuable versatility can be in this league.  Rainey went off for over 20 points while only rushing for 1 yard.  Can you imagine being happy with a RB that only had one yard in the NFL?  It does not happen but in the CFL we see this as a very real possibility.  Return yards are huge and can take running backs value to unexpected places in the CFL and this pick is the perfect case and point for that.

Position 3: DraftKings CFL Daily Fantasy Sports Lineup Breakdown – Wide Receiver (WR):

Brad Sinopoli (1 RecTD, 84 RecYds, 9 REC) – 23.4 Points [8%]

Another low percentage owned pick which can really help move lineups up the leader board we see that Brad Sinopoli got every bit of value out of his $6400 salary cap price tag.  Highly targeted it was a bit disappointing to not see him reach the 100 yard receiving bonus it was still a great performance for a WR on the lower end of the pricing scale.  If a team is willing to throw a lot a receivers way there is lots to be excited about for that selection on any given CFL football daily fantasy sports weekend.

Position 4: DraftKings CFL Daily Fantasy Sports Lineup Breakdown – Wide Receiver (WR):

Derel Walker (149 RecYds, 7 REC, 1 100+Rec)– 24.9 Points [45.1%]

The highest % owned player by far in the lineup at 45% Derel Walker is a superstar player that should perform well on any given weekend.  Even though he did not grab a touchdown this weekend Walker still put up plenty of daily fantasy sports points easily hitting the 100 catching yards bonus.  Probably did not reach his full value of $8600 in this one but he narrowly missed a touchdown due to a stumble and looked amazing on the field so certainly someone to always have on the radar.

Position 5: DraftKings CFL Daily Fantasy Sports Lineup Breakdown – Flexibility (FLEX):

Andy Fantuz (1 RecTD, 99 RecYds, 7 REC) – 22.9 Points [5.6%]

The second lowest owned out of all the picks Andy Fantuz had a highly productive game by his standards.  If this were last year most likely no winning lineup makes would be looking his way but as we all know oh what a difference a year can make.  If the high flying Hamilton Tiger-Cats stick to their dynamic passing program all year there might be something to say for picking up this sleeper pick on any given week for a price in the $5000 range (currently $5400).  These are the kind of hidden gems that can free up much needed cap space.

Position 6: DraftKings CFL Daily Fantasy Sports Lineup Breakdown – Flexibility (FLEX):

Chris Williams (2 RecTD, 176 RecYds, 8 REC, 1 100+Rec, 24 RetYds) – 41.8 Points [18%]

The second most expensive player in the lineup and by far the best performer Chris Williams shows us just how important big games from CFL wide receivers can be.  Putting up almost double the daily fantasy sports points then anyone Williams came through in a big and even had to show chemistry with a backup QB after the starter was forced from the game.  These numbers might be a tad inflated due to the game going into overtime but we really see the tru power of the CFL WR in this choice.

Position 7: DraftKings CFL Daily Fantasy Sports Lineup Breakdown – Defense (DEF):

Tiger-Cats (6 SACK, 1 INT, 2 DFR, 1 DefTD, 1 14-20 PA, 1 STY) – 21 Points [17.9%]

The Canadian Football League can at times be a bit more high scoring then the NFL so its a bit hard to decide on defenses at times but here we the Tiger-Cats put up some nice numbers on the defensive side of the ball.  Lots of great stats on this lineup selection and will certainly be a defense we will want to keep our eyes on in the future.
