FanDuel Fantasy Football Options for Week 1 of the 2016 NFL Season

Fanduel NFL GENERAL 20-08-2016

The first week of the 2016 NFL Season is here as we look to cash in on the action on FanDuel. Now for us the first week of the NFL season has its up and downs when it comes to daily fantasy including the opportunity to find some bargain type fantasy options with a great salary cap number.

On the opposite side of that though is the fact that we really don’t know which teams have built really good defenses and which ones are going to struggle. One of those question marks is in Arizona where we expect the Cardinals to be one of the better performing defenses team. Since we expect this it helped us turn away from Jimmy Garoppolo at the quarterback position.

In the end we are just happy the NFL Season is back giving us another chance at taking home some cash playing daily fantasy football. Now for me a game that I like from a fantasy perspective is the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys contest kicking off at 4:25pm ET.

Now on paper the Giants look to be a better defense but till we see the true product we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to run with Ezekiel Elliott at the running back slot. This has much to do with the fact the team will rely on the run to ease Dak Prescott into the offense while putting less pressure on him.

Meanwhile the Giants have a few options to consider including going with Eli Manning at the quarterback position as well as wide receivers Odell Beckham Jr and Victor Cruz. The Giants like to throw the ball as Manning has attempted over 600 passes in each of the last two seasons while throwing for over 4,400 yards in both seasons.

Here is who we like in week 1 on FanDuel.

Starting Quarterback FanDuel

Jameis Winston, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: We could have easily gone with Derek Carr, Eli Manning or Matt Ryan at this position as well. In the end we like Winston’s salary cap number as well as the fact the Buccaneers offense should be one of the top teams in the league.

Other Quarterback Options to consider: Eli Manning, Matt Ryan and Derek Carr

Starting Running Back FanDuel

Ezekiel Elliott, Dallas Cowboys: For us we even consider going with one of the other Cowboys options in week 1 as well. In the end we couldn’t pass up the potential that Elliott brings to the table behind one of the top offensive lines in the NFL. Only suggestion is to monitor the wire to see if news breaks on how many carries he may see.

Eddie Lacy, Green Bay Packers: After a pretty impressive offseason of working out, Lacy showed up lighter and quicker this season. We expect the Packers offense to work him in to the passing game a little more while the extra speed should help him put up some longer runs.

Other Running Backs to consider Mark Ingram, Adrian Peterson and Devonta Freeman

Starting Wide Receiver FanDuel

Sammie Coates, Pittsburgh Steelers: While Antonio Brown is the top option in this game were looking at one of the other options. While we like Markus Wheaton over Coates his injury concerns has us leaning away from him. We Expect Big Ben to pass for over 300 yards in week 1.

Allen Robinson, Jacksonville Jaguars: For us we couldn’t pass up the Robinson in week 1 as we expect the Jaguars offense to be a top five producing offense as long as Blake Bortles stays healthy. Look for Robinson to continue to build on a pretty impressive 2015 campaign.

DeAndre Hopkins, Houston Texans: Just look at the success Hopkins has had without a true quarterback under center. Now he will have a chance to play catch with Brock Osweiler from day 1 something that should help his production for most of the 2016 NFL Season.

Other Wide Receivers to consider include Mike Evans (Must Start With Winston), Julio Jones and Alshon Jeffery.

Starting Tight End FanDuel

Julius Thomas, Jacksonville Jaguars: Now we like Rob Gronkowski but elected to save the fantasy cash in week 1 and go with a cheaper option. That landed us with Thomas but we are also keeping a close eye on Jimmy Graham and whether or not he suits up in week 1.

Other Tight Ends to consider include Jared Cook and Austin Seferian-Jenkins

Starting Kicker FanDuel

Justin Tucker, Baltimore Ravens

Starting Defense FanDuel

Pittsburgh Steelers
