FanDuel MLB Lineup for Thursday July 23

The Major League Baseball action is limited on Thursday Night but Clayton Kershaw looks to carry the load on FanDuel. Kershaw who hasn’t looked as good as we have seen over the past few seasons in the first half has turned things around over his last two outings.

That is even more important for fantasy owners that have used the Los Angeles Dodgers ace. For the 2015 Major League Baseball season, Kershaw is 7-6 with a 2.68 earned run average. That being said when you look at his last ten starts, the Dodgers ace has allowed just 11 earned runs in that stretch but went just 5-3.

From fantasy perspective, Kershaw has been nearly automatic to post you a double digit fantasy performance in each outing. Over his last 10 fantasy performances, Kershaw’s lowest outcome has been 13 fantasy points three times. Kershaw has also registered four contests with over 21 fantasy points.

This type of production lands him on the hill tonight for us as we look to cash in on FanDuel. This move however will limit us on spending so we will be looking at a few additional FanDuel bargains tonight to allow us to add another top weapon on the offensive side.

Here is our MLB FanDuel lineup for Thursday, July 23rd, 2015.

P – Clayton Kershaw ($13,000): While Kershaw is the most expensive fantasy option tonight, he looks to be the top option on the mound. Other options we like include Tyson Ross for the San Diego Padres and Doug Fister for the Washington Nationals at cheaper rates.

C – Yadier Molina ($2,400): The St. Louis Cardinals has been hot of late picking up nine hits over his last four games including posting back to back games with three hits against the Chicago White Sox. Molina who is still one of the top offensive catchers has struggled this year but he could be turning it around and at $2,400 he is a must start.
First Base – Jose Abreu ($2,900): Abreu might not be considered a FanDuel bargain but at $2,900 we like our odds. For his career, Abreu is hitting .462 in 13 career at bats against Trevor Bauer with six hits over that span. Another option is Adrian Gonzalez but it would take some moving around at the other positions.

Second Base – Aaron Hill ($2,300): Needing a Fantasy bargain at one of the lower tier fantasy positions landed us with the Arizona Diamondbacks infielder. Hill isn’t flashy but has posted at least two fantasy points in three of his last four games.

Third Base – Giovanny Urshela ($2,200): We like a few of the top options but when you spend heavy on a starting pitcher it limits the type of moves you can do. That is where Urshela comes into play at just $2,200. The Cleveland Indians third baseman has three hits over his last two games including a double. This is more of a gamble move to free up some salary.

Short Stop – Jung-Ho Kang ($2,900): Kang has been hot of late for the Pittsburgh Pirates picking up four straight two hit games. In all the Pirates short stop has hit in nine straight games while posting six games with at least 3.5 fantasy points.

Outfielder – Preston Tucker ($3,000): The Houston Astros are one team around baseball that can hit the long ball. That has shown up of late from Tucker who has posted back to back games with at least 11.5 fantasy points. Were looking to ride the hot back of Tucker tonight.

Outfielder – Ender Inciarte ($2,600): Looking for a player that fit the lineup around the $2,500-2,700 mark landed us with Inciarte. The Diamondbacks outfielder has six hits over his last four games including two doubles and two runs batted in.

Outfielder – Jason Heyward ($3,700): We like the Heyward’s matchup tonight against Jeremy Guthrie. Heyward has four career hits of the Kansas City Royals starter in ten at bats including a home run.
