FanDuel MLB Lineup for Wednesday July 29

Clayton Kershaw takes the hill tonight looking to carry the load for FanDuel owners. The Los Angeles Dodgers ace has been brilliant of late picking up wins in three straight games to improve his record to 8-6 on the year. Over that stretch, the former Cy Young Winner helped lower his earned run average to 2.51 for the season.

In these three starts, Kershaw allowed zero runs over 26 innings while striking out 38 batters. For fantasy owners, Kershaw also delivered some big time fantasy in those outings. In each of those games, Kershaw delivered fantasy points of 26, 26 and 24.

Kershaw is just one a few solid options on the mound tonight as Masahiro Tanaka looks to lead the New York Yankees to another win over the Texas Rangers. While Tanaka has not put up the 20 point fantasy points like Kershaw he has delivered three 15 point fantasy outings.

Other options include John Lackey for the St. Louis Cardinals, Garrett Richards for the Los Angeles Angels and Tyson Ross for the San Diego Padres. Lackey has been consistent putting up double digit fantasy numbers in eight straight games for his fantasy owners.

For us tonight the question is whether or not to go with Kershaw or look to a cheaper option that might not be used as much.

Here is our MLB FanDuel lineup for Wednesday July 29th, 2015.

P – Clayton Kershaw ($13,300): The Dodgers starter is the sure bet tonight against a struggling Oakland A’s team. In his last ten games, Kershaw has posted at least 13 fantasy points in each outing including four contests with over 23. Downside is the high cost limits us at other positions.

C – Yadier Molina ($2,400): The downside to using the most expensive starting pitcher is the limited funds you have to build a roster around him. That being said, Molina has had some solid fantasy games over the past ten games including four games with at least two fantasy points. Molina has the potential to put together a big fantasy game any night of the week.

First Base – Ryan Howard ($3,000): Looking at a few options across the board landed us with the Philadelphia Phillies first baseman. Howard has been solid picking up five hits over his last three games including a double and two home runs. Tonight the Phillies take on the Toronto Blue Jays at the hitter friend Rogers Centre.

Second Base – Johnny Giavotella ($2,300): The Los Angeles Angels second base man is another solid cheap option. Giavotella is riding a current seven game hitting streak including two multi-hit games. In that stretch, Giavotella picked up two triples and seven runs scored.

Third Base – Gordon Beckham ($2,200): Beckham looks to be a great FanDuel bargain tonight against the Boston Red Sox. The Chicago White Sox third base man is 15 for 32 off of Ricky Porcello in his career with seven extra base hits.

Short Stop – Didi Gregorius ($2,500): Gregorius is red hot for the Yankees on their current trip to Texas. The Yankees short stop is seven for 9 in the series with a triple, home run and and seven runs scored. In both games, Gregorius finished with at least 10.75 fantasy points. This makes the $2,500 shortstop a FanDuel Bargain tonight.

Outfielder – Bryce Harper ($4,400): Since we were able to cut some corners at a few of the other positions we were able to land Harper. Harper is five for 18 off of Tom Koehler with four home runs and six runs driven in.

Outfielder – Melvin Upton ($2,300): The San Diego Padres outfielder is 10 for 33 with three career extra base hits. Upton is a little deeper of a sleeper play tonight but he has put together fantasy games of four, 5.5 and eight over his last ten.

Outfielder – Nolan Reimold ($2,500): This is the one play we aren’t quite sure of since we are not 100% correct he will be in the lineup tonight. Reimold has five hits in his last two games out of the lead off spot for the Baltimore Orioles.
