Fantasy Football Week #3 Recap


 
Kirk Cousins, Andrew Luck big days on the field help lead fantasy teams in week 3. Cousins made the start for the Washington Redskins who is without Robert Griffin III due to an ankle injury. The third year quarterback out of Michigan State didn’t disappoint his fantasy owners who picked him through waiver wire as soon as Griffin left in week 2.

Cousins finished the day against the Philadelphia Eagles throwing for 427 yards on 30 completions including three touchdown passes. The Redskins quarterback got the team on the board first with a four yard pass to Darrel Young completing an eleven play 82 drive. The success didn’t stop there in the first as he connected with Pierre Garcon with a little over two minutes remaining in the first quarter. The last of his touchdowns came in the third quarter as he hit DeSean Jackson for an 81 yard touchdown.

In Jacksonville, the Jaguars couldn’t find a solution on defense to slow down Andrew Luck. Luck finished the day completing 31 of 39 passes for 370 yards and four touchdown passes. The Colts quarterback connected with Ahmad Bradshaw late in the first quarter to put the Colts up 10-0. The touchdowns kept coming as he connected with Dwayne Allen for a one yard score and Coby Fleener for a seven yard score before halftime.

Luck finished his day by connecting with Hakeem Nicks on a one yard score to push the Colts up 37-3. The third year quarterback leads all fantasy scorers this season including averaging 27 fantasy points per game on Fanduel and 29 fantasy points per game on DraftKings. Next up for Luck is a divisional matchup against the Tennessee Titans in week 3.
 

 
Here are some of the other notable fantasy performances from week 3.

Julio Jones, Atlanta Falcons: The Falcons wide receiver got the fantasy action started on Thursday Night football against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Jones finished the night with nine catches for 161 yards and two touchdowns.

Austin Davis, St. Louis Rams: Davis looks to be the starting quarterback moving forward for the St. Louis Rams after his performance against the Dallas Cowboys. The second year quarterback finished connecting on 30 passes for 327 yards and three touchdowns.

Nick Foles, Philadelphia Eagles: The Eagles quarterback fell behind Cousins in fantasy but was able to lead the Eagles to a big win over the Redskins. Foles finished the day completing 27 of 41 passes for 325 yards and three touchdowns.

Rashad Jennings, New York Giants: Jennings 34 carries for 176 yards and one touchdown helped lead the Giants over the Houston Texans. The free agent acquisition has been consistent this season only trailing DeMarco Murray and Le’Veon Bell in total rushing yards.

Knile Davis, Kansas City Chiefs: The Chiefs running back has been taking most of the carries with Jamaal Charles missing time. Davis put together his best performance of the season rushing for 132 yards and a touchdown on 32 carries.
