Fantasy NBA Sleepers To Pick Up

NBA Fantasy allows every fan to get to as close as possible to owning their very own basketball team. Many individuals feel like they can produce a much better team if given the opportunity. One of the best ways to win in NBA Fantasy is to have a few sleepers on your team with a strong nucleus of notable players. However, it’s not always easy to find a diamond in the rough, but when it does happen it is a great moment for GMs.

Currently there a few players whom you might consider picking up if they are available in your free agent pool. Feel free to grab any of these players if you have someone that you can drop for a hot free agent right now. Don’t drop anyone who is a big name just because someone is coming out of nowhere to produce stats across the boards. The likelihood of free agents to produce for you on a nightly basis is pretty slim and will depend on how deep your league is.

Notable sleepers to target are Hassan Whiteside, Jusuf Nurkic, Jae Crowder, and Robert Covington. Most of these names are not known very well, which makes them a pretty risky, but bold play.

Hassan Whiteside is currently coming off the bench, but is producing when he is on the court. Whiteside can get you a healthy amount of boards, rebounds, blocks and shoots the ball at a high percentage. Also, he does not turn the ball over very much, which makes him a very special talent indeed. There is also the potential of him getting more playing time as the season progresses considering the Miami Heat are pretty thin in the front court. They are currently starting Anderson, but that could change in moment’s time. Keep a close eye on Whiteside as he has high upside.

Jusuf Nurkic is in a similar situation, but is actually starting for the Denver Nuggets. After the Nuggets elected to trade Mozgov to the Cavaliers, it freed up time for Nurkic. They are so high on Nurkic and that is one of the main reasons why they traded away prized Center Timofey Mozgov. Nurkic can actually give you stats across the board and shoots a modest percentage from the field and the line. More importantly, Nurkic has the opportunity to play a boatload of minutes and will get better as the season goes on. Look for Nurkic in the free agent pool if you need a replacement center that will produce for you.

Jae Crowder is also a hot commodity right now after posting 22 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals and 2 blocks while shooting 64% from the field, 100% from the line and committing no turnovers. Those are some monster stats that you would want from a free agent. Though he may not be able to produce this well on a nightly basis, Crowder is a good play for stats across the boards especially defensively. Look for Crowder if you need a sf/pf that is currently on a hot streak.

Robert Covington is playing on a lackluster 76ers squad and has been given the opportunity to start. He can shoot the long ball and give you stats across the board and plays the sf/pf position. With no one likely to challenge him for the starting spot, Covington should be owned in standard leagues. Although sometimes he tends to play in the background instead of becoming the aggressive player Philly needs him to become, Covington is a great play if you need a consistent free agent.
