Fantasy NBA Stars that are Struggling

There are quite a few NBA stars who are struggling to get back into form from previous years. For reasons that are obvious, it can be mainly due to the fact that they are coming back from a serious injury or are currently in a new situation. Among these stars you can find a hidden gem and buy-low from your competitors.

One of the best buy-low candidates right now is Al Horford, who is coming back from a second season ending injury from a torn pectoral. He has admitted that he is having a slow start ever since playing this season. Horford is currently trying to get his legs under him and get back into rhythm. More importantly, he is still trying to mesh with his new front court teammate Paul Milsap. Because of his early injury last season, he was unable to generate any chemistry with the versatile Milsap. They are both currently working on how to take advantage of their tandem. Al is well aware of MIlsap’s ability to stretch it to the perimeter where he can easily dish it for the long ball, but he has also commented on Paul’s passing ability. He knows that Milsap can pass so what he needs to do is just be at the right spot at the right time. Knowing each other’s strengths and tendencies will play a huge role in creating the chemistry that they need in order to be a dominant tandem in this league.

One other big man that you can target is Kenneth Faried who is clearly having the worst season in his career. He is barely getting the minutes he needs to produce significant stats and until he can prove to Coach Shaw that he deserves more playing time, he will be receiving minutes in the mid 20s. Now is the time to snatch Faried from someone who is losing patience on him. Faried can definitely get better stats as he is known to be a high percentage and rebounding machine. After a monstrous journey with Team USA, he should start picking up the pace. There is also the great chance that he will be traded before the deadline since Coach Shaw isn’t too fond of him. If this does happen, he will easily be in a better situation where the coach will let him loose.

For point guards, a great buy-low option is Eric Bledsoe. He is currently on a hot streak right now, but that might be mainly due to the fact that Isaiah Thomas is inactive. Nonetheless, Bledsoe can definitely produce stats across the board and what’s even better about him is that he shoots high percentages from the field and free throw line. It is not very often that you can find a point guard who can actually give you close to a block a game. Talk about filling a category that is rare to even shooting guards. If you have the chance to pick up Bledsoe for cheap, I would do so now.

Another great buy-low option is Kevin Love. Love has been known to produce monster numbers with points, rebounds, 3 pointers and assists, but he is in a different situation right now. It is unclear what role Love has on the Cavaliers squad, but many still project Love to finish in the top 8 in most leagues. The reason they rank him so high is because many believe Love and the Cavs are still trying to build chemistry. It is pretty tough to have that chemistry winning teams have in an instant, so it is definitely a work in progress for the Cavs. Once they figure it out, it wouldn’t be so farfetched to suggest that Love could average 20 and 10 with a few 3s and assists. Love is capable of producing stats across the board and many owners are already thinking that he is getting the Bosh Effect.

These 4 stars or former stars are great targets as buy-low candidates. There will be quite a few impatient owners out there looking to salvage their early round selections so make sure to take advantage of it. Barring any setbacks, these 4 players should start producing the way they normally do.
