The first weekend of the 2016 Major League Baseball Season is here to deliver fantasy owners a solid lineup to build around. While all thirty teams are in action on Friday, ten of those teams will be in action during the day leaving us with twenty teams taking the field starting at 7:05pm ET.

As we start to look around the diamond Chris Archer sits atop the top fantasy options on the mound. The Tampa Bay Rays ace despite picking up a loss in his first start of the season against the Toronto Blue Jays was brilliant for fantasy owners. Archer managed to throw five innings while recording 12 strikeouts in route to a 45 fantasy performance.

Now the other option we really like is Chris Tillman for the Baltimore Orioles, as he will face off against Archer and the Rays. Tillman did not benefit from Mother Nature on Opening Day in Baltimore as he was forced out after a second rain delay and just two innings pitched. The Orioles ace was red hot over those two innings recording five of his six outs on strikeouts while turning in 21 fantasy points.

The third option on the mound that looks to be a great fantasy option on Friday Night is Yordano Ventura. The Kansas City Royals starter has a very favorable matchup against a Minnesota Twins team that struggled to put runs over the plate in three games against the Orioles. In those three games the Twins managed to score six runs but were just two for 21 with runners in scoring position.

Here is our MLB FanDuel lineup for Friday April 8th, 2016.

P – Yordano Ventura ($8,700): This was a difficult decision for us but in the end we couldn’t pass up Ventura. Ventura has a very favorable matchup tonight against the Minnesota Twins.

C – Francisco Cervelli ($2,500): We debated using Buster Posey tonight but couldn’t pass up the hot hand. Cervelli has posted nine, 18 and 15 fantasy points in each of his first three games. The Pittsburgh Pirates catcher has four hits, three runs batted in and two runs scored.

1B – Hanley Ramirez ($3,100): As we looked at games taking place in some of the best hitter ball parks we stumbled on the Toronto Blue Jays/Boston Red Sox game at the Rogers Centre. Ramirez has picked up four hits over his last two games including a home run, one run driven in and two runs scored.

2B – Chase Utley ($2,600): Looking at Daily Fantasy Bargains for tonight we landed with Chase Utley. The Los Angeles Dodgers second baseman has hit Matt Cain well including picking up nine hits over his first 27 at bats including four career home runs.

3B – Evan Longoria ($3,000): Longoria is a perfect fantasy option tonight with his proven success against Tillman. Entering this game, Longoria is hitting .327 off of Tillman in his career with six home runs and nine runs batted in during 49 career at bats.

SS – Carlos Correa ($5,000): After a red hot start the Houston Astros short stop came back down to earth on Thursday Night. Now that won’t stop us from using him with his fantasy potential as the Astros travel to Milwaukee to take on the Brewers at Miller Park.

OF – Dexter Fowler ($3,100): Fowler has been red hot to start the season for his fantasy owners. Entering tonight’s contest Fowler has posted at least 24 fantasy points in threes straight games picking up multiple hits in each of those games.

OF – Gregory Polanco ($3,500): Polanco is another great fantasy option based on his start and the stadium he will be playing in tonight. The Pittsburgh Pirates are traveling to Cincinatti to take on the Reds at Great American Ballpark.

OF – Jay Bruce ($3,100): After the Cincinnati Reds failed to find a new home for Bruce during the offseason the team started the season with in the outfield. Bruce has rewarded the team with six hits over his first 12 at bats including two home runs.
