MLB FanDuel Lineup for Friday May 5th 2017

Fanduel MLB general 02-05-2017

The Daily Fantasy Baseball action continues to stay strong with a 12 Game MLB Slate tonight. Now before we start to look at our Daily Fantasy Baseball Options for tonight we strongly recommend monitoring the weather situation across the country before securing any lineups with rain in the forecast.

Here are four contests we suggest staying clear of or at least ensuring the rain will be light enough to allow a full game to be played.

Washington Nationals @ Philadelphia Phillies

Chicago White Sox @ Baltimore Orioles

Milwaukee Brewers @ Pittsburgh Pirates

Miami Marlins @ New York Mets

Now that we got that out of the way the rest of the MLB slate looks promising tonight for Daily Fantasy Baseball owners to cash in on. This includes a strong pitching presecense on the mound including guys like Dallas Keuchel, Yu Darvish, Chris Archer and Danny Salazar.

For us we could easily go with all three of those options tonight but are leaning towards Salazar. Salazar enters this contest with five straight 30 plus fantasy performances despite not making it to the six inning in two of those games. Now he will look to continue that success against a Kansas City Royals team that ranks near the bottom of multiple offensive categories including runs scored per game.

Meanwhile at the plate we could go a few directions including going with a few players who have had big time success against the starters taking the mound tonight. This includes guys like Dustin Pedroia, Carlos Gonzalez and Edwin Encarnacion.

With that being said here is a look at the Daily Fantasy Baseball Options we like tonight.

Starting Pitcher – Danny Salazar

We went back and forth on options on our options on the mound including debating whether or not to use Salazar or Archer. In the end we elected go with Salazar tonight as our top option on the mound but could us building some lineups around Archer as well. In the end it was hard to look past Salazar who is facing a Royals team that ranks 30th in runs scored, 30th in hits and 30th in OPS.

Top Tier Option: Dallas Keuchel & Chris Archer

Mid Tier Option: Lance Lynn

Fantasy Sleeper: Tom Koehler (Monitor Weather)

Catcher – Stephen Vogt

We continue to use the catcher position as one of those positions to off set some of the cost of our starting pitcher option. Tonight we like a few names but at the top of the list is Vogt who we love in GPP formats while leaning towards Nick Hundley in Cash Lineups. We are looking to ride the upside we saw from Vogt in his performance on Thursday.

Top Tier Option: N/A

Mid Tier Option: Yasmani Grandal

Fantasy Sleeper Option: Derek Norris

First Base – Edwin Encarnacion

The fire power at the first base position night and night out makes it extremely difficult to decide on just that one guy to build around. While we love Paul Goldschmidt tonight we like the GPP upside and value that Encarnacion brings tonight. The Cleveland Indians first baseman enters tonight hitting .389 off of Jason Hammel with three home runs in 18 career at bats.

Top Tier Option: Paul Goldschmidt

Mid Tier Options: Chris Davis & Yonder Alonso

Fantasy Sleeper: Adrian Gonzalez

Second Base – Dustin Pedroia

Playing the numbers is exactly what we are doing as we look to ride Pedroia’s success against Phil Hughes. Entering tonight the Boston Red Sox second baseman is 16 for 41 in his career against Hughes with three doubles, five home runs and 15 runs batted. On the higher side we also like both DJ LeMahieu and Brandon Drury as both will look to take advantage of playing at Coors Field tonight.

Top Tier Option: Brandon Drury & DJ LeMahieu

Mid Tier Option: Jason Kipnis

Fantasy Sleeper: Gift Ngoepe (Weather) & Jed Lowrie

Third Base – Evan Longoria

Now depending on where you elected to go on the mound you could have some additional cap space to go up to a guy like Manny Machado or Nolan Arenado here without costing the team much value. For us we like the higher tier options on the mound opening up the door to a play like Longoria who costs just $2,800k tonight. While Longoria has struggled at times this season he does provide a power option each time he steps into the batters box.

Top Tier Option: Nolan Arenado & Jake Lamb

Mid Tier Option: Manny Machado & Martin Prado

Fantasy Sleeper: Yandy Diaz

Short Stop – Corey Seager

After electing to go with a few bargains at other positions tonight it opens up the door for us to spend a little more aggressive tonight at the short stop position. In the end we narrowed our options down to Carlos Correa and Corey Seager before electing to go with Seager who has the GPP upside we like. Now another option is to go with another bargain type player in the outfield to free up the cash to spend on Trevor Story.

Top Tier Opton: Trevor Story & Carlos Correa

Mid Tier Option: Aledmys Diaz

Fantasy Sleeper Option: Freddy Galvis

Outfielders – Carlos Gonzalez, Giancarlo Stanton & Seth Smith

Now the weather as well as an updated injury report could derail our outfield options tonight as Gonzalez (calf) and Smith (weather) each could cost us if they don’t play. That being said it is impossible to look past Gonzalez’s number against Zach Greinke tonight. The Colorado Rockies outfielder is 13 for 36 off of Greinke with four home runs. Meanwhile Stanton has the numbers at Citi Field that play key in his upside tonight. Meanwhile the Orioles outfielder has been up and down but has two multi hit performances over his last five games.

Top Tier Option: Bryce Harper

Mid Tier Option: Adam Jones & George Springer

Fantasy Sleeper Option: Matt Adams & Jabari Blush
