MLB FanDuel Lineup for Monday May 8th 2017

Fanduel MLB general 02-05-2017

The Daily Fantasy Baseball excitement continues on FanDuel tonight with an exciting ten game slate. Tonight’s schedule should feature some exciting MLB starting lineups to build around including a battle of two of the games top young stars at Camden Yards.

Those two stars are the Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper and the Baltimore Orioles third baseman Manny Machado. While Harper is still listed as day to day with his injury we still love him as one of our top MLB picks for tonight as we build our FanDuel lineup tonight.

While we love both of them as top tier fantasy baseball options tonight it may be hard to build around them while also landing a top tier starting pitcher option. For us two options we really like tonight is Jacob deGrom who has a solid matchup against a struggling San Francisco Giants offense and Gio Gonzalez who has had a ton of success against the Baltimore Orioles.

Now before we get to our top Daily Fantasy Baseball options we only have one game of concern tonight and it features the Chicago Cubs heading out to take on the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field. While the Cubs are coming off an exciting 18 game loss on Sunday and some may look past them the only reason this game is a concern is the high chance of rain in the forecast

With that being said here is a look at the Daily Fantasy Baseball Options we like tonight.

Starting Pitcher – Jacob deGrom

When you look around at the top tier starting pitcher options you could sway your self from nearly every one of them. In the end after looking at the numbers around the league deGrom has a very solid fantasy baseball matchup against a Giants team that has struggled at the plate for most of the season. Entering tonight’s contest the Giants ranked 30th in home runs (19), 29th in OPS (.631) and 29th in runs scored (105). Meanwhile someone like Blake Snell or Nate Karns are sleeper options who could turn in a nice GPP performance.

Top Tier Option: Jacob deGrom

Mid Tier Option: Gio Gonzalez

Fantasy Sleeper: Blake Snell or Nate Karns

Catcher – Stephen Vogt

Vogt is one of those daily fantasy baseball options we expect to be in the starting lineup on most nights and one that can reward us with a big time fantasy performance despite carrying a heavy price tag. Tonight’s slate points to Vogt as he has picked up four hits off of Ricky Nolasco in his career including one of those hits going for a home run. Add that with the fact Nolasco ranks third in all of Major League Baseball with nine homeruns makes Vogt and his teammates a solid fantasy option.

Top Tier Option: Miguel Montero or Wilson Contreras (Monitor Weather)

Mid Tier Option: Matt Wieters

Fantasy Sleeper Option: Travis d’Arnaud

First Base – Edwin Encarnacion

The big question of the night is which first baseman should we slot into the lineup? Should we go with the left on left matchup with Chris Davis who surprised us just a few nights ago or should we go with the red hot Yonder Alonso or Ryan Zimmerman? In the end we can’t pass up on Encarnacion who will be making his return to the Rogers Centre where he has hit very well in his career while also taking on his former Toronto Blue Jays club.

Top Tier Option: Ryan Zimmerman & Anthony Rizzo (Weather)

Mid Tier Options: Yonder Alonso & Ryon Healy

Fantasy Sleeper: Luis Valbuena

Second Base – Jed Lowrie

Riding the Oakland A’s tonight landed us with Lowrie of our MLB FanDuel steal of the night. Lowrie much like Vogt has had some success against Nolasco in his career picking up four hits in 12 career at bats. Add that success with the fact he has three double digit fantasy performances over his last four games makes him a solid option tonight at second base.

Top Tier Option: Javier Baez & Dee Gordon

Mid Tier Option: Jason Kipnis

Fantasy Sleeper: Chad Pinder

Third Base – Manny Machado

While all eyes will be on Kris Bryant and Nolan Arenado out at Coors Field our eyes will be on the Machado/Harper at Camden Yards. Machado enters this game riding eight double digit fantasy performances over his last ten games including four going over the 20 point mark. In the end we have elected to ride with Machado we could easily see going with the other two top options if the weather holds out at Coors Field.

Top Tier Option: Kris Bryant & Nolan Arenado

Mid Tier Option: Jose Reyes

Fantasy Sleeper: Trevor Plouffe & Christian Arroyo

Short Stop – Ronald Torreyes

Now if you are looking to play cash lineups we strongly suggest spending more freely here and going with cheaper options at third base and in the outfield. In the end the New York Yankees short stop should be in the lineup tonight and hitting at one of the more friendly hitter ball parks in all of Major League Baseball. We also love the idea of going with either Francisco Lindor or Addison Russell tonight as well if the salary is there.

Top Tier Opton: Francisco Lindor & Addison Russell

Mid Tier Option: Tim Beckham

Fantasy Sleeper Option: Adeiny Hechavarria

Outfielders – Bryce Harper, Matt Joyce & Colby Rasmus

We have a bunch of options in the outfield we really like including Mike Trout and Bryce Harper as our top options. Along with those two guys like Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton and Khris Davis are also solid options. In the end we love Harper hitting at Camden Yards against a struggling Kevin Gausman. Gausman enters tonights game struggling with command while allowing opposing hitters to hit .321 off of him with six home runs. Meanwhile Joyce is one of those plays you can’t look past as he is hitting .333 off of Nolasco in 15 career at bats with two of those hits going for home runs. The last of our options to allow this roster to work out is Rasmus who just returned from the DL and that spark the Tampa Bay Rays is relying on.

Top Tier Option: Mike Trout & Aaron Judge

Mid Tier Option: Giancarlo Stanton & Jayson Werth

Fantasy Sleeper Option: Joey Rickard
