MLB FanDuel Lineup for Tuesday August 16th 2016

Fanduel general DFS 04-08-2016

The 2016 MLB season continues to deliver us some exciting but surprising baseball night in and night out. Last night we were on the bad end of the apple as we liked the matchup of Matt Moore against the Pittsburgh Pirates. In the end that cost us while a pitcher who many expected to struggle Ian Kennedy posted one of his better starts of the season.

In the end all we can do is turn our attention to tonight’s lineup of games and turn all of our focus on building the best team possible tonight. That being said we are sticking with building our daily FanDuel lineup around the starting pitcher slot as we have a nice solid slate to build from.

Tonight we are turning our attention to a few of the contests that are taking place at a few of the stadiums that rank near the bottom for runs according to MLB Park Factors on ESPN. One of those games features the St. Louis Cardinals at the Houston Astros where Dallas Keuchel will take the mound versus Jaime Garcia.

The other other contests we like from a pitching perspective features the Los Angeles Dodgers at the Philadelphia Phillies, San Diego Padres at the Tampa Bay Rays and the Milwaukee Brewers against the Chicago Cubs. All four of those stadiums rank in the bottom six of all of baseball.

Here is the rest of the MLB options we like tonight on FanDuel to build our MLB lineup around.

MLB FanDuel Advice – Tuesday August 16th, 2016

Starting Pitchers

Jaime Garcia, St. Louis Cardinals: We could easily go with Keuchel tonight to but we will ride the hot arm of Garcia. The Cardinals starter has turned in to solid outings for his fantasy owners posting 42 points in his last outing and 69 in the outing prior to that one.

Kenta Maeda, Los Angeles Dodgers: Entering tonight Citzens Bank Ball Park ranked 28th in all of baseball in runs according to MLB Park Factors. Add in the fact that the Dodgers starter has posted 30, 38, 28 and 32 fantasy points over his last four starts gives us a very reliable option on the mound.

Fantasy Sleeper Option: Edwin Jackson

Catcher

Salvador Perez, Kansas City Royals: The Royals catcher will be a favorite tonight for many fantasy owners as he gets to face off against Justin Verlander. In his career, Perez is 23 for 49 with ten extra base hits to go with 14 runs batted in.

Other Catcher Options we like include Sandy Leon, Nick Hundley and Wellington Castillo/Tuffy Gosewisch.

First Baseman

Jose Abreu, Chicago White Sox: The White Sox first baseman has been hot of late picking up at least one hit in nine of his last ten games including six multi-hit performances. Tonight he will look to stay hot against Corey Kluber who he has hit well in his career picking up 12 this in 31 at bats including three home runs.

Other First Base Options we like include Freddi Freeman, Chris Davis and Paul Goldschmidt.

Second Baseman

Neil Walker, New York Mets: We could have gone a few directions here but we like Walker tonight against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Entering tonight, Walker has turned in at least 12.2 fantasy points in six of his last ten performances add that to the fact he will be hitting in a hitter friendly ball park makes him a great option at second base.

Other Second Base Options we like include Dustin Pedroia, Starling Castro, Daniel Murphy and Joe Panik.

Third Baseman

Anthony Rendon, Washington Nationals: After failing to produce last night at Coors Field we have elected to ride with him again tonight. Along with Rendon the other solid option is Nolan Arenado who is also due as we have seen him produce for his fantasy owners at Coors Field this entire season.

Other Third Base Options we like include Nolan Arenado, Manny Machado and Martin Prado.

Short Stop

Troy Tulowitzki, Toronto Blue Jays: We are riding with the Blue Jays short stop tonight while we also like Carlos Correa if you elect to go against Garcia on the mound. For us Tulo has a huge power upside while only costing $3,100 at the position.

Other Short Stop Options we like include J.J. Hardy, Marcus Semien, Carlos Correa and Chris Owings.

Outfielder

Bryce Harper, Washington Nationals: For us the best stadium to build from most nights is Coors Field.  That was the case yesterday and Harper produced picking up 24.5 fantasy points for us. Tonight we are looking to ride him again after he has posted games of 18.9 and 24.5 fantasy points over his last two games.

Andrew McCutchen, Pittsburgh Pirates: We like the Pirates outfielder tonight as he has posted a career .382 batting average against Jeff Samardzija including five extra base hits. The Pirates outfielder has slowly started to come around posting three double digit fantasy games over his last four contests.

Mookie Betts, Boston Red Sox: It is going to be hard for us to pass up on Betts tonight despite his high salary. The Red Sox outfielder has torched the Orioles this season picking up 18 hits in 43 at bats. Of those 18 at bats, Betts has three doubles and six home runs while driving in 12 runs.

Other Outfielder Options we like include Carlos Gonzalez, Jay Bruce, Jurickson Profar, Hyun Soo Kim, J.D. Martinez and Nick Markakis (Fantasy Sleeper).
