MLB FanDuel Lineup for Wednesday May 17th 2017

Fanduel MLB Win or Play Again 17-05-2017

The MLB Schedule continues to deliver excitement daily from walkoff hits to dramatic late inning comebacks. That excitement was on full force on Tuesday Night including a 13 inning affair in Detroit that saw the two teams hit six home runs while scoring a combined 24 runs. Meanwhile in Miami, Dallas Keuchel threw another key fantasy performance for his daily fantasy baseball owners.

Now all that action is a distant memory as we get set for another action packed night of daily fantasy baseball as the 2017 MLB Schedule delivers an eleven game slate. The big question tonight is which direction should we turn to on the mound after watching Jimmy Nelson fire out a solid six innings for us on Tuesday Night.

One direction we could turn to is Ervin Santana as he looks to pick up his seventh win of the 2017 MLB Season. The Minnesota Twins starter has been good this season picking up at least 34 fantasy points in all but one start. On Wednesday Night he should have a chance to extend those numbers against a Colorado Rockies team that is hitting just .243 against him in 70 career at bats.

Meanwhile at the plate we have a solid list of options as well as a few key stacks to consider including riding the big three of both the Baltimore Orioles and the Detroit Tigers. Here are three stacks you will want to consider when building your daily fantasy baseball lineup tonight.

Manny Machado – Chris Davis – Mark Trumbo

Ian Kinsler – Miguel Cabrera – JD Martinez

Antony Rizzo – Kris Bryant – Javier Baez

Here is our Daily Fantasy Baseball Options for Wednesday May 17th, 2017

Starting Pitcher – Matt Garza

In the end we like the matchup for Garza a little more than we like the matchup that Santana will have to face. In the end we will be looking to build around both guys tonight with a variety of lineups depending on the rest of our roster moves. Garza enters Wednesdays night contest riding three straight 34 plus fantasy performances over his first four starts of the season. Now that success will look to continue against a San Diego Padres team that ranks near the bottom in nearly every category while ranking fourth in all of baseball with 359 strikeouts. Meanwhile a fantasy gamble that maybe worth looking into is using Jimenez despite the matchup as he has shown up big when the odds were against him.

Top Tier Option: Ervin Santana

Mid Tier Option: Miguel Gonzalez

Fantasy Sleeper:  Ubaldo Jimenez

Catcher – Jonathan Lucroy

On a night with limited top tier talent at the catcher position we elected to save a few bucks while going with a player that has a ton of GPP upside. That option is Lucroy who will be hitting at a very hitter friendly ball park in Texas while also coming off his fourth multi hit performances over his last five contests. Meanwhile guys like Welington Castillo and Miguel Montero are also solid options as well behind the plate.

Top Tier Option: N/A

Mid Tier Option: Welington Castillo

Fantasy Sleeper Option: Miguel Montero

First Base – Joey Votto

For us the first base position is one of those slots on Wednesday that you just can’t afford to miss on. In the end we loved the idea of riding the red hot Chris Davis who has four home runs over his last three games but just couldn’t pass up Votto at Wrigley Field. With the weather forecast expecting to have wind this would be a great night to ride with Votto or even Anthony Rizzo as we expect to see some runs scored as the two teams face off at Wrigley Field.

Top Tier Option: Anthony Rizzo

Mid Tier Options: Chris Davis & Yonder Alonso

Fantasy Sleeper: Luis Valbuena

Second Base – Ian Happ

The game of baseball is filled with hot streaks making the idea of riding Happ tonight a solid option. The Cubs second baseman/outfielder is coming off an impressive three game stretch to start his career that featured his first two home runs of his career while picking up four runs batted in. Add that with the fact the wind should be blowing out makes the Cubs/Reds matchup one of those contest that should see some home runs hit. Meanwhile the other strong candidate we would build around is Ian Kinsler against a struggling Ubaldo Jimenez.

Top Tier Option: Ian Kinsler

Mid Tier Option: Rougned Odor

Fantasy Sleeper: Jed Lowrie

Third Base – Todd Frazier

Overall the third base position is a solid one to build from on Wednesday Night including going with Kris Bryant or Manny Machado as top tier plays. In the end we like Frazier tonight as he should see a chance to put one out of the ball park against Matt Shoemaker. The Los Angeles Angels starter enters his start on Wednesday Night having allowed nine home runs over his first eight starts including three of those games going for more than one.

Top Tier Option: Kris Bryant & Manny Machado

Mid Tier Option: Joey Gallo

Fantasy Sleeper: Josh Rutledge

Short Stop – Dansby Swanson

After starting off the 2017 MLB Season on the slow front the Atlanta Braves middle infielder has started to swing the bat of late. Entering Wednesday Night, Swanson had hit in eight straight games including back to back multi hit performances against the Toronto Blue Jays. That type of productiona long with his high upside in GPP formats and his low salary cap number under the $3k mark makes Swanson one of our locks of the night in our lineups.

Top Tier Option: Trea Turner

Mid Tier Option: Zack Cozart

Fantasy Sleeper Option: Jose Iglesias

Outfielders – Mike Trout, Aaron Judge & Magneuris Sierra

How can you not slot Trout into your lineups on Wednesday Night? The Angels outfielder has been red hot with home runs in four straight games while topping the 21 fantasy point mark in each of those games. Add that success with the fact he has three career home runs off of Miguel Gonzalez and he is nearly a lock in at least 60 percent of our teams. Rounding out the outfielder slots is Judge who has cooled off a big but still continues to reel in double digit fantasy numbers. Meanwhile on the sleeper side of the table we like the GPP upside Sierra brings to table as long as he is in the lineup.

Top Tier Option: Mookie Betts

Mid Tier Option: Domingo Santana & Brett Gardner

Fantasy Sleeper Option: Jose Osuna
