NBA FanDuel Lineup for Friday January 6th 2017

Fanduel NBA 2017 CONTESTS 03-01-2017

The daily fantasy action is in full force this weekend with an exciting slate of contests to cash in. This includes on the hardwood, the grass as well as the ice as all three sports are heating up. For us we are turning our attention to the Friday Night eight game slate to the hardwood to cash in on FanDuel.

When looking at tonight’s slate of games we see a ton of valuable fantasy plays for FanDuel owners looking to cash in on GPP formats. Two of our value plays for Friday Night that we like is Aaron Gordon of the Orlando Magic and James Johnson for the Miami Heat.

For Gordon his upside is what you look for when you build a GPP lineup with his huge upside night in and night out despite his bust potential. Over his last five games, Gordon has posted two games over the 37 fantasy point mark rewarding his fantasy owners nearly eight times his salary.

Meanwhile Johnson is another one of those value plays we like as the Heat continues to deal with some injury concerns.  The team lost Justice Winslow for the season and should be without Hassan Whiteside as well. Johnson has posted at least 33 fantasy points in his last three games played.

Each of these options are solid candidates to team up with the likes of either LeBron James or Kevin Durant while also providing cap space to go with someone like James Harden. With all that said here is our top Daily Fantasy Basketball Options for January 6th, 2017.

Point Guards – Goran Dragic & Mike Conley

The point guard position is one of those slots where we all want to get pulled into the top tier options while both John Wall and Isaiah Thomas are both have great matchups. In the end we like Dragic and Conley based on their salary cap number and their fantasy matchups. Dragic will be facing off a Los Angeles Lakers team allowing the second most fantasy points in the NBA. Conley on the other hand should benefit from the fast pace matchup against the Golden State Warriors.

Top Tier Fantasy Option We Like: Isaiah Thomas

Mid Tier Fantasy Option We Like: Elfrid Payton

Fantasy Sleeper Option We Like: Austin Rivers (GPP) / Raymond Felton (Cash)

Shooting Guards – Giannis Antetokounmpo & Sean Kilpatrick

For us it was simple to slot these two guys into our top FanDuel options at the shooting guard position. The Greak Freak faces off against a New York Knics team that ranks second in the NBA in fantasy points allowed to opposing shooting guards while Kilpatrick could benefit against a Cleveland Cavaliers team that ranks fourth in fantasy points allowed to the position among teams in action tonight.

Top Tier Fantasy Option We Like: James Harden

Mid Tier Fantasy Option We Like: Klay Thompson

Fantasy Sleeper Option We Like: J.J. Redick & Jordan McRae (Monitor Trade News)

Small Forwards – LeBron James & Jae Crowder

Depending on the route you take at the shooting guard position you might have to shy away from James while turning to a more cost friendly option like Andrew Wiggins. We also recommend monitoring the status of James as this is setting up to be a good rest game for him as the team travels to Brooklyn. That being said if James is in the lineup he is a must start option against a bad Nets team. Crowder on the other hand should benefit from his matchup against a 76ers team that ranks fifth in the NBA in fantasy points allowed to the position.

Top Tier Fantasy Option We Like: Kevin Durant

Mid Tier Fantasy Option We Like: Andrew Wiggins & Trevor Ariza

Fantasy Sleeper Option We Like: Aaron Gordon

Power Forwards – James Johnson & Ersan Ilyasova

How can you not like the fantasy matchups of these two guys tonight facing off against the two teams that rank among the top three among teams in action tonight in fantasy points allowed to the position. While Ilyasova will benefit if Joel Embid misses the contest we still like him either way. If you are looking to spend a little more here and cheaper at say the center position we also recommend is Julius Randle who has been big for his fantasy owners in five of his last six games.

Top Tier Fantasy Option We Like: Draymond Green & Julius Randle

Mid Tier Fantasy Option We Like: Gorgui Dieng

Fantasy Sleeper Option We Like: Channing Frye

Center Option – Al Horford

The center position is the one slot tonight we don’t like despite seeing the big names of DeMarcus Cousins & Karl-Anthony Towns. Each carry high price tags which is a concern for GPP formats where we are looking to get 6 times their salary. With that being said Horford is a solid option if the game stays close to keep him on the floor. In his last five games seeing over 30 minutes, Horford has posted at least 34 fantasy points in four of those contests.

Top Tier Fantasy Option We Like: DeMarcus Cousins

Mid Tier Fantasy Option We Like: Tristan Thompson & Greg Monroe

Fantasy Sleeper Option We Like: Kelly Olynyk & Timofey Mozgov
