NBA Players Coming Back From Injuries

So much like every other NBA season, there have been countless injuries happening throughout the league. Many stars have fallen victim to the injury bug and are now just nursing their way back to health. Some players however, are forced to miss extended time and even the entire season. Players such as Paul George, Kobe Bryant, Brandon Jennings, and Kemba Walker are all expected to miss quite some time. Bryant and Jennings are out for the remainder of the season, while the status of George and Walker are somewhat in the air.

Though there are a few key players who will be out for an extended period of time, there are also some decent players to target who are just coming back from injury.

Terrence Jones and Robin Lopez are two of the more prized free agents available in most leagues. Jones is already back on the court, but it will take some time for him to get back up to speed. With a crowded front court, it is difficult to predict what type of production Jones will be able to give to you. Howard is currently nursing an injury of his own so Jones may even need to play more minutes than originally planned.

Nonetheless, Terrence is the type of player that can contribute to almost every single category out there. Perhaps his free throw shooting could be slightly better, but he can definitely give you points, 3-pointers, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks while shooting at a great percentage from the field. If anything were to happen to any of his front court mates, Jones would see a bump in value. For now, expect to see numbers around 12 ppg, 6 rpg, 2 apg, 1 spg, 1 bpg and 1 3-pointer. These are definitely realistic numbers that Jones can offer your team so if you’re looking for a big man who won’t hurt your team, Jones is your man.

Robin Lopez is also coming back from an injury to his hand which forced him to miss 6-8 weeks of action. He is currently wearing a soft cast and has been putting up a few shots in the shoot-around. However, he has been quoted saying, “the hand still feels a little weak,” which would indicate that he is still at least one or two weeks away from playing again. Lopez is a serviceable center who shoots great percentages from the field and the free throw line. He can give you a decent amount of rebounds and get you a combined 2.0 steals and blocks. The great thing about Lopez is that he can finish well at the rim and doesn’t need to put the ball down to dribble to score. This means that his turnover rate is quite low and this is a huge plus especially for centers. Lopez generally does not hurt you in any one category, but he could use more points per game to give him some added value. If Lopez is available in your free agent pool and you need a decent starting center or great backup center, Robin is your man.

Barring any setbacks, these two players can definitely help boost your chances in winning your leagues. A huge part of playing Fantasy Basketball is taking chances on the free agent pool. Luckily for you, both Jones and Lopez have had a consistent track record. All signs point to yes if you need a quality big man on your team. Pick them up now if you have room to spare.
