NFL Draftkings Lineup Construction for Week 9, 2015

draftkings NFL win $100K

Each week we construct three 50/50 cash game lineups.  These are the guys we used in our lineups.  We always keep ourselves tuned in Sunday morning to make any last minute lineup changes as breaking news and last minute inactives open up opportunities for great values

Quarterbacks:

Philip Rivers $6600

Eli Manning $6900

Ben Roethlisberger $6600

We went with 3 different QBs this week but that may change come Sunday.  We seem to play Rivers every week and he has a great matchup this week.  Rivers can be your Monday night hammer vs Chicago’s defense which ranks middle of the road.  San Diego averages 70.6 plays per game which is 2nd most in the NFL.  He is without Keenan Allen but Rivers will spread the ball around and he has three WRs at cheap prices which make a really nice stack: Stevie Johnson, Malcolm Floyd, and Dontrelle Inman.  By contrarian and stack two of those WRs with Rivers to save money.  Eli Manning went for 350 yards and 6 TD passes last week.  He has another good matchup in Tampa Bay who is ranked 30th in the NFL vs QBs.  His completion percentage is 66% and has a TD-INT ratio of 17-4.  Big Ben Roethlisberger has a matchup vs the Oakland Raiders which he can exploit.  He has his full complement of WRs at his disposal and Heath Miller is the sleeper cheap TE option in this offense.

Running Backs:

Jeremy Langford $4000

Devonta Freeman $8000

Mark Ingram $6500

Melvin Gordon $4000

Darren McFadden $4300

Chris Ivory $5900

We used a RB in all my flex spots this week.  The price for McFadden, Langford, and Gordon were too good to pass up and they all seem destined for 20 touches.  Our favorite matchup is Langford vs San Diego.  This San Diego defense is giving up 24+ fantasy points per game to RBs and Langford has no competition with the injury to Matt Forte.  He’s in a great position to hit value and has a high ceiling after Jay Cutler came out and endorsed Langford’s work effort.  Devonta Freeman has a good matchup vs the 49ers and Atlanta should be up early so this could quickly turn into a running game.  Mark Ingram is the #2 ranked RB in PPR formats and his roll just got bigger with the injury to Khiry Robinson.  Chris Ivory will be fed the ball 25 to 30 times this week.  The Jets were knocked off stride with the injuries at QB and they will go back to the well and feed their workhorse back, Chris Ivory.

Wide Receivers:

Alshon Jeffrey $6700

Odell Beckham $8800

Amari Cooper $6700

Antonio Brown $8100

Stevie Johnson $3200

Martavis Bryant $5500

Demaryius Thomas $7500

We have a bunch of WRs listed but Alshon Jeffrey is our top choice.  He is healthy and has played 3 complete games this year registering 11, 11, and 15 targets.  The 15 targets were last week and he caught 10 balls for 116 yards and a TD.  The 2nd guy we tried to fit into our lineups was Odell Beckham vs Tampa Bay.  Beckham is a TD machine and Manning’s preferred target in the red zone.  Always a threat to take it to the house and with the way the New York Giants defense is giving up points we can see meaningful catches deep into the 4th quarter to Beckham.  We listed Big Ben as one of our QB plays and a stack with either Antonio Brown or Martavis Bryant should pay off for you.  We went Demaryius Thomas with one lineup because the money worked and we see Peyton having a good game in his return to Indianapolis.

Tight Ends:

Heath Miller $2700

The running TE joke around DFS is “To Gronk or not to Gronk”.  We made the decision not to Gronk this week because of his high price and we can see the Patriots getting out to an early lead and running the ball.  Instead we went with Heath Miller.  Miller is cheap and caught 10 passes last week for over 100 yards.  All he needs is 5 catches for 40 yards to hit value which is very attainable as Oakland has served up big fantasy scores to opposing TEs this season.  Oakland is still last in the NFL in fantasy points to TEs.  This is a safe cash game play.

Defense/Special Teams:

Atlanta Falcons $3400

New England Patriots $3300

Dallas Cowboys $2700

We used three different Defensive units this week as we had some money left over when we got to the position.  We had Atlanta and New England circled because of matchup.  Atlanta is our top choice since they are facing an inept San Francisco offense with a new QB behind center.  They have a 3 headed monster at RB that is a work in progress, should be without Anquan Boldin and Vernon Davis was traded away this week. New England has Washington on the schedule and Cousins will be forced to score points to keep up with Brady which should result in a few turnovers.  The one decision we made was with the Dallas D over the Philly D.  Both teams are priced at $2700 and play each other in Dallas.  Being the game is in Dallas we went with the home team Dallas Cowboys.  Sam Bradford has been turning the ball over so this is a good spot for a pick 6 and a few sacks.
