NFL FanDuel Lineup for Week 17 of the 2017-2018 Season

The final week of the 2017 NFL Schedule has arrived as DFS owners look to cash in on the last full week of the season. Now as many season long leagues have wrapped up with Championship games taking place last weekend, the daily fantasy football action will be front and center in Week 17.

Now before rushing to a final daily fantasy football roster this week, we all need to take the time to look at the playoff picture as well as which players are currently battling injuries.  For example, the Kansas City Chiefs have elected to rest quarterback Alex Smith while allowing Pat Mahomes get a shot under center. With this decision, we can expect guys like Kareem Hunt, Travic Kelce and Tyreek Hill all to see reduce roles in Week 17.

The other team that stands out as a team that could sit key starters is the Philadelphia Eagles who have locked up home field advantage in the NFC. While these two teams could see multiple starters rest the rest of the playoff picture in both the AFC and NFC conferences is still wide open as teams fight for a spot in the playoff, play positioning and even home field advantage in the AFC.

That said, this plays well for DFS owners who are looking to build the perfect daily fantasy football lineup on FanDuel on Sunday. One option that really stands out is Tom Brady who will have an ideal matchup against a suspect New York Jets team as he looks to deliver home field advantage for his New England Patriots. Here is a look at a few of the teams you will want to take advantage of in Week 17.

New York Giants (VS Washington Redskins)

Here is a matchup among two teams that have nothing to play for outside of playoff positioning. That said Kirk Cousins might be the one player who has the most to play for as he looks to secure a long term deal. Good news for him he will take on a Giants defense that ranks 1st in fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks. Along with Cousins, Vernon Davis makes another solid play as the Giants are allowing the most fantasy points to opposing tight ends. Meanwhile the Giants also rank 9th in fantasy points allowed to running backs and to wide receivers.

San Francisco 49ers (Los Angeles Rams)

While the success has looked great for the 49ers now that Jimmy Garoppolo has taken over, this contest doesn’t have any affect on their season outlook outside of moving down in the draft order. That said the 49ers enter this contest ranked 2nd in fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks and 4th in fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs. Add that to the fact the Rams will need big games from both Jared Goff and Todd Gurley to allow them to stay in the hunt for a bye to open the playoffs makes both great options to build around.

As we take all of that information in for Week 17, here is our NFL FanDuel options for this Sunday.

2017 NFL Daily Fantasy Football Options Week 17

Quarterback – Drew Brees

The quarterback position is an interesting one in Week 17, as top options like Tom Brady and Drew Brees look to deliver key wins to solidify their playoff positions. Meanwhile, the Chiefs have turned away from Alex Smith while rumors swirling around Pittsburgh is Ben Roethlisberger will miss the Steelers matchup against the Browns. That said we turned to Brees as he has a very solid fantasy matchup against a bad Tampa Bay Buccaneers team. Back in their matchup on November 5th, Brees threw for 263 yards to go with two touchdowns. Another option to consider is Russell Wilson who will need to put together an MVP like performance together to help the Seattle Seahawks have any chance of a playoff trip.

Other Top Quarterback Options – Tom Brady, Kirk Cousins, Russel Wilson & Philip Rivers

Sleeper/Bargain Options – Joe Flacco

Potential Bust – Jimmy Garoppolo

Running Backs – LeSean McCoy & Alex Collins

The first option at the running back position for us this weekend is definalty Todd Gurley. While he will be in many of our daily fantasy football lineups, we just expect many DFS owners to turn to Gurley this weekend as he continues to put together an MVP run. That said we turned to two running backs who will be relied on heavy in Week 17 as both the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills fight for one of the final two spots in the AFC. For both of these backs they have solid matchups in Week 17 as Collins faces as a Cincinnati Bengals team that ranks 3rd in the NFL in fantasy points allowed to the position while the McCoy gets his shot at the 5th ranked Miami Dolphins.

Other Top Running Back Options – Todd Gurley, Mark Ingram & Kenyan Drake

Sleeper/Bargain Options –Tevin Coleman, Jonathan Stewart & Theo Riddick

Potential Bust – Le’Veon Bell (Lack of touches) & Alvin Kamara

Wide Receivers – Keenan Allen, Jamison Crowder & Ted Ginn Jr

As we focused on the wide receiver position, we started to look at the options that connected each option to the top quarterback options we also like in week 17. While Michael Thomas could be a solid option if he plays, we turned to Ginn as a potential number one option for Brees in a key matchup to win the division in Week 17. Ginn has been targeted at least 5 times in four of the Saints last seven matchups. Crowder meanwhile should benefit much like his quarterback Cousins in a matchup against a very bad Giants defense. The last of our options is Allen who continues to be the key go to weapon for Philip Rivers. Entering Week 17, Allen has seen at least seven balls thrown his way in seven straight games.

Other Top Wide Receiver Options – Michael Thomas (Injury), Brandin Cooks, Doug Baldwin & Stefon Diggs

Sleeper/Bargain Options –Mike Wallace, Tavon Austin, Mohamed Sanu & Josh Doctson

Potential Bust – Tyreek Hill & Martavis Bryant

Tight End – Vernon Davis

The tight end could be a plug and play situation for you based on the quarterback option you elect to go with. If you go with Brady than Rob Gronkowksi makes perfect sense. Meanwhile Jimmy Graham could be a solid pair for Wilson and Benjamin Watson as a solid sleeper if you elec to take a gamble with Flacco. That said we turned to Davis as we expect to see a ton of points scored between the Giants and Redskins in Week 17. The veteran tight end has touchdowns in two of the last three Redskins contests.

Other Top Tight End Options –Rob Gronkowski & Jimmy Grahan

Sleeper/Bargain Options – Benjamin Watson, Jason Witten & Tyler Kroft

Potential Bust –  Travis Kelce

Kicker – Matt Bryant & Defense – New Orleans Saints

Rounding out our roster is Matt Bryant at the kicker position and the New Orleans Saints defense. For us Bryant is a solid candidate not only playing in a dome but also in a matchup that has a ton of playoff implications on the line. The veteran kicker has at least eight fantasy points in seven straight games including five games with double digit fantasy numbers. Meanwhile the Saints have been an interesting option week in and out on defense. That includes a 13 point performance last week against a solid Falcons offense and an 18 point performance the last time they faced off against the same Buccaneers team they will face this Sunday.
